Job Summary: The Technical Project Manager is responsible for developing and managing projects that affect consumer-facing retail website products. These projects require timely execution with the highest degrees of security, performance, availability, and reliability. Acting as a bridge between core engineers and multiple internal partners, the TPM analyzes requirements, plans delivery, creates schedules, sends weekly summaries, and seeks program optimization opportunities. The TPM also provides escalation management, anticipates tradeoffs, and balances business needs versus technical constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the technology capabilities of each product and drive necessary changes or redesigns.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams such as GREF, AV, Security, and local IT.
  • Prevent or mitigate the consequences of poor technology decisions.
  • Simplify complex or risky designs.
  • Engage senior engineers for reviews and escalate ambiguities around deliverables.
  • Understand the larger business picture and the technical requirements of solutions.
  • Work directly with external technology or service providers, customers, partner teams, and sellers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field or a related area, for senior level 7+
  • Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
  • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to direct the work of others.
  • Creativity and latitude in decision-making.

Preferred Certifications:

  • PMP, CAPM, Infrastructure (MCSE, CMP, CCNA, etc.).
  • Experience with MS Project.
  • Proven record of successful delivery of software products from conception through deployment.
  • Ability to drive deployment of new products from a business perspective.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with strong product and program management skills.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and use custom-made tools.
