We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Sudbury, a category D Prison, located in Ashbourne in East Midlands. HMP Sudbury is an adult male prison with a population of 661. You will be based within the Healthcare department and working in a team of 5.

Hours: This role is a permanent role based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm.

Salary: This position is full time, you will receive an annual salary between £42,500 - £45,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will contribute to the provision of clinical expertise and expert advice from a mental health perspective, supporting the wider prison and driving up clinical performance. You will use your skills and experience to develop goal-oriented care plans which support a patient's progression and overall wellbeing. You will use evidence-based theory to support the delivery of high-quality mental health intervention whilst meeting CQC requirements, following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding. You will develop links with our partners and stakeholders, contributing to a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of. Clinical supervision, evidence-based care and continuous quality improvement embedding a culture of reflection and shared learning. Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care supporting your clinical and non-clinical colleagues to do a great job.

Qualifications:

  • Occupational Therapist or Social Worker - HCPC / NMC Registered Mental Health
  • Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment
