Location: Leeds Description: We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Supervisor to join our growing Civil Engineering business, which specialises in delivering Section 278 and Infrastructure works. As a Site Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations on site, ensuring that our projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards. Role and Responsibilities: As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day site activities, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications, including highway works, drainage, street lighting, and traffic signals. You will lead and coordinate the on-site team, including subcontractors, ensuring that all personnel are clear on their responsibilities and are working to the highest safety and quality standards. A key part of your role will be maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, ensuring that all safety procedures and regulations are followed and that risks are identified and mitigated. You will also monitor and inspect the quality of workmanship on site, ensuring that all work meets the required standards and specifications. You will regularly monitor the progress of work and report back to the Project Manager, identifying any issues or delays and taking corrective action as necessary. You will liaise with the engineering team, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of the project. Additionally, you will manage materials, plant, and equipment, ensuring that these resources are available and efficiently used on-site. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate site records, including daily site reports, health and safety logs, and progress reports, while reporting to senior management as required. As issues arise on-site, you will be expected to quickly identify problems and implement solutions to keep projects on track. Environment and Working Hours: The office is an open-plan environment with parking on-site. Company core office hours are 8:30 am until 5:00 pm, with an early finish at 4:30 pm on Fridays. Person Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (e.g., HNC, HND, or a similar qualification) or significant relevant experience in a Site Supervisor role. Proven experience as a Site Supervisor, preferably in Civil Engineering projects such as Section 278 works, highway construction, or infrastructure projects is essential. You will have a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards, along with familiarity in interpreting engineering drawings and project specifications. As a Site Supervisor, you will need excellent leadership skills and experience managing a team on-site, with the ability to motivate and guide others in achieving project objectives. A good knowledge of health and safety regulations is crucial, as is the ability to identify and mitigate risks on-site. You will need strong communication skills to liaise effectively with subcontractors, project managers, and other stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and keep the site running smoothly are also essential. Problem-solving abilities are key, and you must be able to identify issues and implement solutions quickly to minimise disruptions and keep projects on track.
