As we enter an exciting phase of growth in 2025, expanding into two significant new business areas, we are seeking a commercially astute Finance & Business Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping our future.
This is a unique opportunity for a strategic and hands-on professional to drive financial performance, oversee operational effectiveness, and contribute to the overall leadership and management of the company. The ideal candidate will be a capable Finance Manager or Director who thrives in a broader business management role, combining financial expertise with commercial leadership.

Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Actively contribute to overall business strategy and management. Lead business planning processes and drive continuous improvement across all functions.
- Business Management: Oversee daily business operations, supporting performance across Sales, Operations, and Marketing. Identify and implement operational efficiencies and growth opportunities. Support new business area integration, ensuring strategic alignment and execution.
- Financial Management & Compliance: Oversee financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and statutory obligations. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax requirements, including year-end accounts and company secretarial duties.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team while fostering cross-departmental collaboration. Champion a high-performance, commercially aware culture across the organisation.
- Risk & Cost Control: Manage contractual risk, monitor margins, and drive effective cost control. Evaluate and mitigate business and financial risks.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Provide accurate, timely financial and business performance data to support strategic decisions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with external advisors including auditors, banks, legal advisors, and insurers.
- Operational Support: Oversee general administration and internal systems to ensure smooth, scalable business operations.
- Owner Advisory Role: Keep the owner informed and provide independent, strategic financial and business advice.
- Professional Qualifications: CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified (desirable).
- Leadership & Presence: Independent thinker with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
- Exceptional Communication: Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong grasp of business operations, profitability drivers, and market dynamics.
- Senior Management Experience: Proven success in a senior finance or business leadership role (experience in construction/manufacturing is advantageous).
- Technical Knowledge: Experience with Sage 200 (advantageous).
- People Management: Skilled at leading, mentoring, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
This role is office based, Monday to Friday 8am β 4pm. We are flexible regarding salary; for the right person we are happy to discuss at a further date.
