About the company
Imerys British Lithium (IBL) is developing a world class micaceous lithium resource in Cornwall. We have developed unique, patented technology for the sustainable recovery of battery grade lithium carbonate from micaceous granite, with the goal of building the worlds first integrated lithium mine, beneficiation plant and refinery producing 20,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate per year (enough to support production in the UK each year of 350,000 electric vehicles) by the end of the decade. We operate a state-of-the-art pilot plant, built to develop our unique LiMica-Sep and Li-Sep technologies. Capabilities at the facility involve a wide range of process technologies, such as mineral beneficiation, pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, precipitation, crystallisation, and ion exchange, at both the laboratory and industrial scales.
The job role
This is a technical, hands-on role, where you'll be operating a variety of plant machinery and be involved in the successful execution of pilot trials and preparing operating data. The more common activities include, but are not limited to:
- Control of Operational Parameters in order to maintain product within specified limits
- Basic maintenance of fixed plant equipment and calibration of instrumentation
- Sample collection & analysis
- Upkeep of fixed plant and facilities

You will:
- Have previous experience of working within a process driven or production environment.
- Have an interest in process improvement.
- Have an understanding of Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures
- Have an awareness of Health and Safety/ exposure to COSHH and/ or IOSH.
- Have good communication skills and be a team player.
- Legally be able to drive in the UK
- Maintain the health, safety and environmental standards on site, for yourself and others around you
