Location: The Tower School, Epping, Essex

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

About the role

As Deputy, you will promote a relentless focus on the quality of education and delivery of a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of pupils and young people. A pupil's place at The Tower School will ensure improvements in behaviour, confidence and self-belief, which can then be transferred into appropriate and accelerated learning inside the classroom and beyond. At our school, we offer a flexible, personalised, engaging skills-based curriculum providing both choice and challenge focused on developing emotional literacy, core subject knowledge and offering a wide range of accredited outcomes.

The successful applicant will have responsibility for acting as DSL and overseeing all Inclusion support, as well as assisting the HT with strategic direction of the school. Working with the senior leadership team, you will ensure the school has effective systems in place and the required team capability to continually improve. You will be joining a high achieving company and executive team and will support the Head Teacher in creating a compassionate school culture that recognises values and supports each student's unique mental and emotional journey.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking to hear from experienced or rising Senior Leaders with experience of inspiring multi-disciplinary teams to deliver outstanding learning for pupils and young people with special education needs. We are looking for someone who knows how to bring a creative and innovative approach to improving performance and support for our pupils and their families. An excellent communicator, you will act as an ambassador for The Tower School and will have demonstrable experience of working in partnership with parents, commissioners, local authorities and other stakeholders. If you are a truly inspirational, highly motivated and forward-thinking leader, with the energy and passion to change lives coupled with proven experience of whole school development and improvement, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

About us

The Tower School is an independent special day School for pupils aged 11-18 who have a primary diagnosis of Autism. Our dedicated team works together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who will often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life. We are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and young people. All applicants will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants to a fully enhanced DBS.

You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy.
