Orion is working with a hi-tech automation solutions company specialising in the manufacture and development of bespoke special-purpose machinery. They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join the team.
Your role as a Senior Control Systems Engineer will require a highly motivated individual to create bespoke automation solutions for their clients' manufacturing and testing needs. Be part of the action from start to finish. You'll work on every phase of the project helping shape ideas in the early stages, designing and programming PLCs and HMIs, getting systems up and running, and providing hands-on support after installation. Your impact will be felt from concept to completion and beyond.
Duties:
- Designing, coding, commissioning, and testing for the worldwide bespoke machinery.
- PLC/ HMI design and problem-solving throughout the entire life cycle.
- Design complex systems for bespoke automated equipment.
- System validation, including onsite validation and Factory Acceptance Testing.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in the coding of PLCs and HMIs from scratch.
- Prior experience coding in Structured Text.
- Experience in designing control systems for special-purpose machinery.
- Control of Servo drives and inverter AC drives.
- Proven experience with EtherCAT, Profinet etc.
