The role focuses on the design and development of RF and microwave components and systems, ensuring they meet electrical performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
- Design and develop RF/mmWave sub-circuits, modules, and systems for telecommunications and defence applications.
- Collaborate with mechanical design engineers to integrate electromechanical concepts into your designs.
- Work with the electronics/PCB design team to create high-frequency PCB layouts and support electronics.
- Analyse system performance, including RF chain line-up and thermal performance, to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare and maintain design documentation such as design logbooks, technical data packs, and reports.
- Verify and validate designs through testing, preparing test specifications and reliability testing reports.
- Provide support during the introduction of new products into manufacturing, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
A degree in RF/Communications Engineering or a related discipline is required. Proficiency with RF design tools such as Microwave Office, ADS, CST, or EMPro is essential. Experience in RF/microwave circuit and system design, including tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability, is also necessary.
