A Groundworker prepares the land ready for building. The main duties of a Groundworker are as follows:

  • Preparing each site for building with barriers and safety signs.

  • Draining (removing sewage water by flow or pumping).

  • Laying foundations.

  • Concreting.

  • Kerbing and flagging (laying kerbs and flag stones).

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking all relevant risk and method statements.

  • Using best safe practices on all tasks.

  • Carrying out thorough checks on all equipment.

  • Ensuring a tidy place of work.

  • Ensuring all work is completed on time.

  • Communicating with site management.
