Connect Appointments are seeking a Van Driver to join our new Kirkcaldy based timber merchants.
What's on offer?
- A full-time temporary contract
- Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 17:00
- Paid weekly at £12.21 p/h
Working as a Van Driver, you will be responsible for the transportation and delivery of timber frames to clients throughout Kirkcaldy and the local area (predominately private addresses). The delivery van will be loaded by the warehouse team; however, it is your responsibility to ensure the load is secure (training will be provided on this). Once you arrive at the client's address you will unload the van, and then return to the yard for the next delivery.
Your duties will include:
- Unloading delivery vans
- Delivering goods to customers on designated routes
- Maintaining regular communication with route dispatchers
- Review deliveries with recipients to ensure they’re accurate
- Obtaining delivery confirmations from customers
- Ensuring the van is kept in a clean condition
- Heavy lifting and some yard work
Please Note: This role involves heavy lifting.
To be successful within this Van Driver role you will have at least one year's previous experience in a delivery role, combined with a full UK driving licence with a maximum of six points, good timekeeping skills, and the ability to work with little supervision. Some degree of IT skills would be beneficial, as you would need to work from an app.
