A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced EC&I Engineering Manager to lead projects and manage the Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) design and engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple industries, including chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the EC&I engineering and design team, including personnel development, training, recruitment, and resource allocation.
- Ensure strict quality control and adherence to relevant industry standards across all EC&I engineering and design projects.
- Oversee multi-discipline projects spanning concept, design, and commissioning.
- Maintain budget and planning oversight, managing changes and client expectations effectively.
- Participate in internal and external design reviews, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Provide technical expertise, making independent decisions on EC&I engineering matters.
- Collaborate across disciplines, coordinating efforts between EC&I, Mechanical, Civil & Structural, Process, and Automation teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a line manager.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Lead Engineer EC&I in multi-discipline projects within an Engineering / EPCM / EPC environment.
- MEng/BEng in EC&I Engineering, preferably Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
- Ability to manage resources efficiently and forecast recruitment needs.
- A strategic mindset, ensuring engineering activities are well-planned and dependencies are understood.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of motivating teams and handling challenges.
- Experience chairing design review meetings and managing stakeholder relationships.
