We are currently seeking a Principal Arboricultural Consultant for an exciting hybrid role, requiring office attendance just one day per week. This is a permanent position. The role involves co-leading the provision of arboricultural services to clients across the UK, with key responsibilities including: Commercial and operational delivery: Handling a demanding caseload of enquiries related to specialist planning advice and vegetation management on public highways. This includes specifying associated works, managing contractors, and evaluating complex arboricultural assessments such as tree inventories and valuations. Habitat management and project work: Advising on large-scale habitat management and creation projects, designing and undertaking complex surveys using innovative tools and techniques, and delivering specialized support for multidisciplinary projects. Compliance and enforcement: Collecting, analyzing, and presenting complex data to recognized standards, ensuring third-party compliance, and contributing to enforcement activities as required. Policy development: Leading the development and review of complex plans, policies, and guidance. Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (RQF level 6) with substantial post-qualification experience. Professional qualifications as a Tree Inspector and strong evidence of continuous professional development. Membership of relevant professional bodies such as M.Arbor.A and the Institute of Chartered Foresters (MICFor).
