Location: London/Surrey (Hybrid – 3 days in the office per week)

Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 (Depending on Experience)

Our client is hiring a Carbon Consultant to lead sustainability projects with a core focus on carbon accounting and emissions strategy. This role involves supporting clients in calculating, managing, and reducing their carbon footprints, while aligning with evolving ESG and net-zero expectations.

You’ll work with a range of clients across industries, helping them calculate, manage, and reduce their carbon footprints while embedding sustainability into their core operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead carbon-focused sustainability projects from scoping through delivery, ensuring alignment with client net-zero goals.
  • Calculate carbon footprints using leading methodologies (Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions), and develop tailored reduction and offsetting strategies.
  • Apply key ESG and sustainability frameworks such as TCFD, GRI ISSB, and SASB to support reporting and disclosures.
  • Prepare carbon-specific sections of ESG reports and produce high-quality, TCFD-aligned disclosures.
  • Translate carbon data into actionable insights for clients’ senior leadership and sustainability teams.
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets while maintaining strong communication and relationships with clients.
  • Support internal knowledge-sharing and thought leadership on carbon-related topics.

Professional and Personal Attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience in carbon accounting and lifecycle emissions analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and how they relate to carbon and climate reporting.
  • Proficiency in carbon footprint tools and methodologies (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP, ISO 14064).
  • Exceptional project management and client engagement skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a detail-oriented, hands-on approach to delivery.
