Contract with OEM at Peterlee for a Product Procurement Engineer role. The client is looking for around 5 years’ experience in automotive product procurement. You will have accountability for operating and monitoring procurement functions, meeting defined response times, cost, quality, and lean targets. This includes enabling optimal and efficient facility operations, collaborating with business partners and suppliers, and resolving facility-specific supplier-related issues.

An automotive procurement background revolving around 5 years of job-related experience is required.

  • Communication skills, able to create reports and presentations and present to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to determine the root cause of a problem and create solutions.

Skills and experience:

  • Professional certification in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management, e.g., CIPS.
  • Knowledge of Quality, Lean manufacturing, and an understanding of lean principles.
  • Experience with QAD and SAP based ERP systems preferred.
