About the Role:

Our client, a renowned innovator in transport planning and highways design services, is seeking a talented and motivated individual to become their next Associate Director – Highways Design. The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: Proven experience in managing Section 278 and Section 38 highway design projects. Strong background in project and resource management within the highways sector.
  • Skills: Pro-active leadership with the ability to manage and mentor teams across a varied workload. Excellent technical knowledge across a range of highway design environments. Demonstrated ability to manage projects to programme and budget. Experience in stakeholder engagement and client liaison. Strong understanding of DMRB and MCHW technical standards. Proficiency in Civils 3D CAD and Causeway Flow PDS software. Ability to develop and review contract documents in line with relevant highway contracts. Sound independent judgement and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications: Chartered Engineer status is preferred. Valid UK driving licence required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of high-quality highway designs.
  • Manage project budgets and resource allocations effectively.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, stakeholders, and project partners.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of design documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with our client’s Senior Management Team across multiple office locations.

Travel Requirements:

Predominantly office-based in Birmingham, with occasional travel to project sites and other office locations as required.
