Are you an experienced underwriter, seeking a new challenge where you can build and expand your skillset? Our client is a niche mortgage lender, with the ultimate goal of becoming the main household name for later-life lending, offering a variety of products and a first-class customer experience. They have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, manual underwriter to join their expanding team; with a new product on the horizon, itβs an exciting time to join the business.
Along with manual underwriting skills, they do need an individual who has experience with Equity Release mortgages.
Duties of the Underwriter will include:
- Reviewing Mortgage applications against the Lending Policy to ensure robust underwriting decisions are made.
- Managing a portfolio of cases to completion.
- Each case to be Underwritten accurately by assessing loan documentation, including valuation reports and if required, Credit reports, and requesting additional information from brokers and customers where required, highlighting any concerns that you may have.
- Working closely with Case Managers to gather all information from third parties.
- Speaking extensively to Brokers to allow cases to progress efficiently.
The successful individual will have a strong background in manual, mortgage underwriting, specifically with Equity Release Mortgages.
