This home is a nurturing, therapeutic residential children's service registered for up to three children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities. Duties

  • Provide leadership and supervision to care staff.
  • Ensure high standards of care and safeguarding.
  • Support the development and implementation of tailored care/support plans.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Ofsted standards and internal policies.
  • Foster a homely, therapeutic environment.
  • Promote positive outcomes and resilience.

Criteria

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. No sponsorship is available.
  • Previous experience working within a residential children's setting.
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support a team effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding practices and children's home regulations.
  • A passion for improving the lives of children with EBD and learning disabilities.

Compliance

Successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment safeguarding checks including an enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS) check. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and the employer is permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
