An established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is on the lookout for an experienced civil engineer to join their thriving civils team on a permanent basis. Their team is involved in a number of high-profile clients and projects. This includes schemes at all stages of the design and construction process from feasibility, through design to operation, maintenance and asset management.

Main duties of this Civil Engineer role include:

  • Collaborating closely with other team members to deliver impactful solutions to our communities, engaging in technical work, site visits, and project management.
  • Conduct technical and feasibility studies to evaluate the practicality and feasibility of alternative solutions in areas such as potable water, foul water, surface water, and attenuation requirements.
  • Performing detailed calculations and working closely with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of engineering design elements and the preparation of comprehensive technical reports.
  • Undertake numerical analysis including the use of computer-based programmes to assist with the study of potable, surface and wastewater systems.
  • Undertake structural analysis and design such as determination of the design situation and load cases, including calculation and use of analysis software.
  • Produce designs of water infrastructure including pump systems and pipe networks with attention to safety in design, such as creating a Designer’s Risk Assessment document and working with technicians to produce and consolidate final working drawings.
  • Working towards chartership or incorporated status with a relevant institution e.g. ICE, CIWEM etc is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Experience in undertaking engineering assessments, including options appraisals, engineering calculations, and economic appraisals.
  • Proficiency in detailed design, with a preference for experience in wastewater/water treatment schemes, flood risk management, or drainage schemes.
