I'm currently working in partnership with a leading facilities management and service provider with the crucial hire of a QHSE Manager into their Defence division to provide full management and the safe and efficient delivery of airfield operations and services for the UK military base on Ascension Island, South Atlantic.
Overview: A multi-functional role to work as the QSHE Manager and Safety Champion for the ISP South Atlantic Contract on Ascension Island.
Main Duties:- Develop and deliver in-house quality, health and safety, and environmental training packages.
- Take responsibility for the production, regular updating, and maintenance of the site-specific QSHE plans.
- Undertake site QSHE inspection and tours across all project works.
- Manage all company online QSHE tools and databases.
- Participate in and ensure the effective implementation of the EMO2 Audit regime.
- Manage and mentor the QSHE Process Co-Ordinator & EMO2 assistant in all supporting duties.
- Support the Project Team with Tender preparation, reviews, and submissions on all aspects of QSHE.
- Provide a proactive role in the investigation of all accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Attend monthly meetings and chair the Health and Safety committee, attend flight safety and SIMM meetings with the client.
- Advise on the creation and development of Safe Systems of Work in accordance with JSP375.
- NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.
- Auditing Competencies (45001/14001/9001).
- Understanding and experience in carrying out audits to ISO 9001, 14001, and 18001 requirements.
- Experience in managing and maintaining an Integrated Management System.
- Computer literate - Word, Excel, MS365, Teams, etc.
- Team player with experience in leadership and personal development.
- Lead by example and continue to develop a strong safety culture.
- Full driving license.
- Level 3 AET (Award in Education and Training).
- CMIOSH Tech.
- Experience in a construction or facilities management environment on an MOD Establishment.
- Experience in the provision of QSHE training to diverse employee groups.
- Good working knowledge of JSP375 - MOD H&S Manual.
- Proven record of accomplishment in the provision of practical operational health and safety policy.

- 80 days leave excluding weekends
