Are you experienced in Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and looking for a new opportunity in electronic manufacturing? We are seeking an AOI Technician to join our clients production team, ensuring the highest quality standards in PCB assembly.
Role Overview:
As an AOI Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining AOI systems to inspect PCBs for defects, optimize inspection programs, and collaborate with production and quality teams to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programme and run AOI equipment to detect defects in PCB assemblies.
- Develop and refine AOI programs to improve defect detection and minimize false calls.
- Identify, analyse, and verify defects, working closely with engineers to enhance inspection accuracy.
- Maintain inspection records and generate defect reports to support process improvements.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of AOI machines to ensure peak performance.
- Work alongside production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and enhance efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience with AOI systems such as Koh Young, Cyber Optics, Mirtec, Omron, Yestech, or similar.
- Strong understanding of PCB assembly processes, SMT (Surface Mount Technology), and common soldering defects.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards for electronic assembly inspection.
- Basic machine programming and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 1-3 years in PCB inspection, AOI operation, or a similar role within electronic manufacturing.
Work Environment:
Hands-on role within an SMT/THT & electronics manufacturing setting. May require standing for extended periods and handling small components.
