Role Purpose

Scottish Borders Council is dedicated to ensuring the best outcomes for our children and young people. We have allocated additional funding to expand and develop our Duty Children and Families Team, making this an exciting time to join us. We are looking for a full time, permanent Senior Social Worker to provide professional practice supervision and caseload management to our duty social workers and social work assistants to support them in achieving positive outcomes for children. If you are an experienced children and families social worker, are energetic, enthusiastic and skilled in managing pressure, you will thrive in this post and be instrumental in supporting the development and expansion of the Duty team.

Essential

  • Appropriate social work qualification at degree or diploma level (DipSW).
  • Registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. SBC offer inclusion into the scheme for pool cars and therefore use of personal vehicle would be limited to times when pool cars are fully booked.
  • If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driver’s licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into consideration for this role.
