Job Description

Alexander Ash are seeking a highly experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the infrastructure planning and coordination workstream for a major technology replatforming programme. This role is critical in ensuring that all data centre infrastructure components—compute, storage, network, and physical cabling—are planned, provisioned, and delivered on time to support the platform migration schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of infrastructure build activities across multiple data centre environments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed infrastructure project plans covering capacity, network design, compute, and storage requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Data Centre Facilities, Networks, Storage, and Cabling to ensure physical and virtual infrastructure is provisioned in line with programme milestones.
  • Track infrastructure dependencies, risks, and readiness to support successful application migrations.
  • Ensure alignment between infrastructure delivery and broader replatforming programme timelines.
  • Manage change control processes related to infrastructure scope, capacity, and deployment sequencing.
  • Provide regular status reporting, escalation of blockers, and documentation for governance forums.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure that infrastructure designs meet operational, resilience, and security standards.
  • Support environment readiness checks and contribute to migration rehearsal planning.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience delivering infrastructure workstreams within large-scale technology transformation or replatforming programmes.
  • Deep understanding of data centre infrastructure including compute (x86/Unix), networking, storage, racking, and cabling.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure provisioning workflows, lead times, and dependencies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience coordinating across multiple technical and operational teams.
  • Effective project management capabilities, including use of tools such as MS Project, Jira, or equivalent.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks and issues within complex infrastructure environments.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and service providers is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
  • ITIL certification desirable.
