Role Purpose
Drive quality control tests and analyse outcomes to ensure our technology solutions not only meet but exceed user acceptance standards and requirements.
Role Responsibilities
- Automated Testing: Design and code automated tests in Java using tools like JUnit, Rest-Assured for functional tests, Pact for contract testing, and Selenium for UI testing.
- Behaviour Driven Development: Embrace BDD practices, including 3 Amigos collaboration and Gherkin/Cucumber.
- Quality Control: Implement a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements.
- Test Plans and Scripts: Draft and revise test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and technology strategy.
- Collaboration: Study requirement specifications and raise clarifications with Business and Technical Analysts. Work with software engineers to embed automated testing right at the start of the SLDC.
- Maintenance and Issue Resolution: Perform ongoing maintenance of testing technologies, resolving issues and escalating where necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend and support the implementation of improvements to quality control frameworks, processes, and best practices.
Minimum Requirements
- This role is for an individual contributor.
- Quality Engineering Knowledge: Knowledge of standard software quality engineering practices, processes and methodologies.
- Test Automation Experience: Experience in designing and writing test automation scripts that run in CICD pipelines.
- SDLC Experience: Experience in the software development life cycle, preferably in testing multi-tiered applications.
- Passion for Learning: Enthusiasm for learning and developing as an engineer who wants to embed good quality practices across the entire SDLC.
