This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused and relationship-driven sales professional to join a close-knit team at an exciting time of growth and international expansion. This is not a cold-start sales role. The business receives a regular flow of inbound enquiries and holds established relationships across the UK and internationally. Your focus will be to qualify and develop those opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships, while also identifying new business across key sectors and markets.

With exposure to projects in aerospace, defence, oil & gas, and advanced manufacturing, you’ll play a key role in developing the commercial strategy, working closely with internal teams and travelling nationally and overseas as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and qualify inbound enquiries, gaining a clear understanding of customer requirements and offering the right product solutions.
  • Convert qualified leads into orders through consultative and technical selling approaches.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
  • Represent the business in client meetings, site visits, industry events and exhibitions – across the UK, Europe, and globally.
  • Identify new business opportunities and support strategic growth across priority markets.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams including production, operations, and customer service to deliver an outstanding client experience.
  • Monitor market activity and competitor trends to inform commercial strategy.
  • Contribute to wider business development planning with the opportunity to progress into a leadership role over time.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in business development, account management, or technical sales, ideally within the metals, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a consultative sales approach.
  • Personable, professional, and confident engaging with technical stakeholders and procurement teams.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to build long-term client relationships.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a small, dedicated team.
  • Ambitious, adaptable, and motivated by long-term growth – both professionally and personally.
  • Willing and able to travel across the UK and internationally as required.

What Our Client Offers:

  • A permanent, full-time role based in Sheffield with regular national and international travel.
  • The opportunity to work with global clients on a wide range of specialist projects.
  • A collaborative, supportive team environment where ideas are welcomed.
  • The chance to genuinely shape the future of the business, with a clear pathway for progression.
  • A respected, values-led company culture with a focus on long-term relationships and quality service.
