We're working with a well-established contractor specialising in roofing and cladding systems, with over 40 years of experience in delivering high-profile commercial projects. They're now looking for a Draughtsperson to join their design team in Darlington.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £35,000 – £43,000 (depending on experience)
• Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays
• Working Hours:
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
• Flexibility on start/finish times considered

Duties:

Working closely with the design and project teams, you'll be producing technical drawings and detailing solutions for roofing and cladding systems across a range of commercial builds.

Your role will include:

• Creating detailed general arrangement and fabrication drawings
• Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, specs, and tender documents
• Coordinating with internal teams and external consultants
• Attending project handovers and design meetings
• Updating drawings to reflect design changes or site variations
• Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers on specialist elements
• Supporting junior team members as needed
• Assisting with as-built documentation at project close-out

Requirements:

• A qualification such as an HNC (or equivalent) in design, construction, or a related field
• Experience in a draughting or design role within the construction industry
• Strong skills in AutoCAD (any 3D CAD knowledge is a bonus)
• Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ideally, some knowledge of roofing or cladding systems – such as rainscreen cladding, composite panels, flat or metal roofing
