Hours: 40 hours per week, 7:30am to 16:00pm

As a Mechanical Engineer at FCC Environment, you will lead our Mechanical Maintenance Department to ensure the efficient operation, compliance, and reliability of the Mechanical Plant and Systems at our EnviRecover Energy from Waste facility. You will plan and execute scheduled maintenance, respond to breakdowns, oversee projects, and supervise a team of Mechanical Technicians. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing the procurement and quality of contracted mechanical services
  • Planning and supervising maintenance during shutdowns
  • Leading preventive maintenance and rectifying plant failures
  • Ensuring statutory compliance with safety systems, lifting equipment, and pressure systems
  • Maintaining spare part availability and overseeing budgets
  • Leading mechanical upgrades, new installations, and obsolescence plans
  • Supporting audits and compliance checks
  • Line managing the Mechanical Technicians
  • Supporting Electrical, Controls and Instrument Engineers as needed

What are we looking for?

  • A qualified Mechanical Engineer with a minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least five years post-qualification experience
  • Broad experience in mechanical maintenance, including high-pressure and rotating equipment
  • Experience managing teams and contractors
  • Preferably from the Energy from Waste, power station, or process plant industries
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
