Train Response Service Technician Permanent (Shift – Mixture of Days and Nights) Clapham A leading company in the Rail sector is currently recruiting for 3 Electrical Train Service Technicians to be based out of Clapham station but will be required to travel to various locations to attend unit failures in an attempt to get the units back into service or the relevant depot with minimum about of lost time. As Train Service Technician you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and overhaul of traction units, components and equipment in accordance with their specifications. Adhering to the depot protection, safety, quality and environmental procedures/regulations. You will be involved in (but not limited to); * Attending track calls across the network as requested by Fleet Control * Diagnose and rectify as required technical faults on the service fleet to ensure units remain in service * Detailed recording of faults, fault reporting, data gathering and verbal communication * Assistance in component change outs, and failure reporting for central systems support and reliability growth teams. Investigate technical problems as instructed. * Undertake test runs to assist in fault finding and resolution of faults, particularly the closeout of repeat failures. * Functionally test train borne systems with minimal supervision using a variety of techniques and methods, including the use of computer-based diagnostics systems. As a minimum, you will need to have: * Appropriate electrical engineering qualifications essential. (Minimum Level 3 Quals) (Essential) * Rolling Stock Experience is Desirable however candidates who’ve worked in Military/Aircraft or similar will be considered * Good written, oral communication, numeric and IT skills. * Ability to analyse and interrogate data. * FULL UK Driving License (Essential) Working pattern Working 12 hour shifts of Days and Nights.
