Weβre currently working with a leading Housing provider in Reading who are seeking an experienced Operations & Contracts Manager to oversee and lead their tenancy and housing management teams in delivering a high-quality, resident-focused service. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, organised, and forward-thinking manager with a strong track record in leading front-line housing operations and driving service performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and motivate a team delivering tenancy and housing management services across a defined patch.
- Ensure staff development through 1:1s, appraisals, training, and performance management.
- Deliver a compliant, value-for-money housing service aligned with best practice and legislation.
- Lead performance reporting and quality assurance, ensuring service delivery targets are met.
- Act as lead contact with residents, members, clients and other stakeholders, including responding to complaints and MP enquiries.
- Produce neighbourhood plans, support resident engagement, and ensure robust contract management.
- Deputise for the Director of Commercial & Partnerships in key meetings.
- Oversee budget controls, risk management, lone working processes and strategic delivery priorities.
- Proven experience of leading operational housing teams within social housing.
- Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic thinker with solid decision-making and leadership capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy law.
- Contract and budget management experience, ideally within PFI or complex partnership arrangements.
- Flexible approach β occasional evening/weekend attendance may be required.
- Strong IT literacy and reporting skills.
