Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic/ Service Technician/ MOT Tester with franchise dealership experience? Volvo has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join one of our retailers based in Chelmsford. Our retailers offer a safe and friendly environment featuring state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and workshop technology.

About this opportunity… Lookers Chelmsford are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join their fantastic workshop. While working alongside other experienced technicians, you will play a vital role, carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology, conducting vehicle services, and carrying out any additional repairs. You will report to the accomplished aftersales manager who will give on-going support to ensure you have the tools needed to succeed in your role. If you’re a qualified Vehicle Technician or an experienced Mechanic, whether you work in a dealer group or independent garage, we want to hear from you!

Key responsibilities…
  • Carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology
  • Conducting vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and customer requests
  • Carrying out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer
  • Warranty repairs are per the manufacturer’s guidelines and relevant write up is complete
  • Taking the customers vehicle out on a road test to ensure all faults are rectified
  • Complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard
What you’ll bring…
  • Whether you work at an independent garage, fast fit centre, car supermarket or main dealer, we would be interested in talking to you
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (required, but level 2 will be considered)
  • A team-player who is comfortable operating with set processes and procedures
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Motivated, dedicated and organised with a focus on Health & Safety in the workplace
  • MOT License would be desirable, but not essential as full training will be offered
  • An Electric and Hybrid vehicle qualification or certification would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided

Salary: OTE up to £51,600 (basic £30,000 - £45,000; plus OTE up to £6,600) + extra 2k for EV Qualification. Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5.30pm with 30 minutes lunch, Saturdays on rota 8am to 1pm (1 in 3 as overtime).
