Solar PV Maintenance Electrician Location: Aberdeenshire Salary: Competitive (based on experience and qualifications) We are seeking a dedicated Solar PV Maintenance Electrician to maintain and repair renewable energy installations across the Council’s portfolio of domestic properties. This vital role focuses on the upkeep of Solar PV systems, battery storage solutions, and EV charging points, ensuring their efficiency, reliability, and safety. If you’re passionate about sustainability and want to contribute to Aberdeenshire’s energy efficiency goals, this opportunity is for you. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and reactive maintenance on Solar PV systems, battery storage solutions, and EV charging points to ensure optimal functionality and efficiency. Diagnose and resolve system faults, minimising downtime, and perform preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of installations. Ensure compliance with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and certify work to BS 7671 standards through thorough inspections and testing. Adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments to protect both residents and the workforce. Coordinate property access with Council teams, provide tenants with guidance on system usage, and support upgrades or new installations as required. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and replacements, preparing performance reports and managing spare parts inventory. What We’re Looking For Essential Qualifications and Skills: Fully qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent). Experience in domestic electrical maintenance. Certification in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations. Familiarity with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and ability to certify work. CSCS Card (or equivalent). Full, clean UK Driving Licence.Desirable Experience (Training Available): Knowledge of solar PV systems, battery storage, and EV charging points. Certification in SVQ Level 3 for Small Scale Solar PV Installations. Understanding of renewable energy performance monitoring tools.Why Join?
