Hybrid from our Slough UK office. Our purpose is to make the world more sustainable. Fujitsu’s Research and Development (R&D) is at the forefront of Fujitsu's sustainability transformation strategy, conducting cutting-edge research to tackle social challenges and improve our future world. You will manage a team of researchers in FRE, while interacting with the large global Fujitsu Research team. Your primary focus will be on all phases of proof-of-concept (PoC) projects using advanced technologies of Fujitsu Research, from understanding partner and customer needs to demonstrating the benefits of technology to them. This position plays a crucial role in leading cutting-edge research and development, contributing to both technological innovation and its real-world applications at Fujitsu. You will manage a research team with a variety of technical expertise. This includes not only budget and resource management but also reviewing patent applications and research papers by understanding the specifications, requirements, and constraints of proposed and developed technologies.
Your Transferable Skills and Experience
- Experience in managing a research team with budget and resource management responsibility
- Extensive experience in a wide range of technologies from AI, Data Analytics, Agent-based modelling and associated architecture.
- A PhD qualification in a relevant field, with a strong research component and a publication record
- Extensive experience in leading external R&D collaboration and proof-of-concept projects
- Strong negotiation and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders in academia and business
