Job Description
Talent Media is working in partnership with a specialist in the precision engineering industry to recruit an experienced EDM Engineer for their Glasgow facility.
?? Location: Glasgow
?? Hours: 37 hours per week
?? Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 3-shift rotation (early, back, and night shifts)
Purpose of the Role:
To set up and operate Spark and Wire Erosion machinery for high-precision machining operations, ensuring output meets strict customer tolerances and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up, adjust, and operate EDM machinery

Load materials and unload finished precision components
-
Follow technical drawings to meet tight tolerances
-
Adhere to all safety and manufacturing procedures and documentation

Maintain accurate logs of production, equipment issues, and repairs

Conduct routine inspections of machines for safety and performance

Keep tooling and materials stocked to minimise downtime

Support production flexibly during busy periods

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Time-served EDM Engineer

Hands-on experience in Spark and Wire Erosion

Competent in reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings

Demonstrated ability to work to tight tolerances on high-spec components

Familiarity with manufacturing safety regulations and standards
