We are partnered with a forward-thinking UK Wide General Property Practice to search for a critical hire within their London Valuation team. Our client operates at around c.£15m turnover and the valuation department makes up a large portion of this. I am mandated to find an Associate Director or very strong Senior Surveyor that has both commercial and residential valuation experience. Working from their London offices on a hybrid basis, this valuation team carries out a diverse range of valuation instructions throughout Central London and some home counties, working with a variety of clients and properties. The valuation department is made up of near 30 staff, making it large enough for a solid team but small enough for the selected candidate to make an impact, which is what they want with clear opportunities to progress. This role specifically needs someone to act as a senior figure in the valuation team, offering support to the leadership of the business and the valuation director of the division. You will aid the graduate and newly qualified valuation surveyors, offering your experience and knowledge. You will report into the divisional head of the valuation department who is well known in the marketplace and will offer you excellent guidance wherever you may need it, along with an amazing career development plan which ties into the HR company policy for staff training. What will you be doing in this role as the Valuation Associate Director? A large bulk of this role includes providing valuation advice to clients for loan security, accounts, and other purposes including tax, acquisitions, disposals, and financial reporting with a solid split of commercial and residential, yet dependent on the strengths of the prospect, this role can lean toward one asset class. This would be on behalf of a really diverse client base, keeping you very busy and interested. Clients would include major lending organisations including UK clearing banks and alternative lenders, investors, developers, local authorities, and landed estates. You will also have the responsibility of managing/mentoring two valuation team members, one graduate and one newly qualified surveyor. Responsibilities as the Valuation Associate Director: Produce Red Book valuation reports to a very high standard. Report to clients and senior colleagues. Adhere to internal processes, lender requirements, and RICS regulations. Build professional business through networking internally and externally. What experience is needed? MRICS and RICS Registered Valuer. Experience in writing clear and concise reports and providing strategic property advice and due diligence. Capabilities in Microsoft applications as well as Argus and Kel. Experience of statutory, development, and investment valuations across different asset types is ideal. Willingness to oversee and assist junior colleagues. Demonstrable communication skills. What’s in it for you? “Staff first” mentality – if culture is important to you, there is no better firm. Interesting, diverse work and huge opportunity to build your own client base utilising a very busy client base. Genuine opportunity to work in a business.
