UHI Orkney is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above relief post. The role requires specific background and expertise in Counselling. Experience of working in Counselling services is also required.
Applicants must have recent experience of teaching/supporting others within the area of core skills. Up to date knowledge of best counselling practice is also required.
In addition to counselling curriculum, there may also be opportunities to lecture on curricula at FE and HE level across the department, including assessment of student learning needs.
Applicants must be educated to at least degree level (SCQF level 9) or equivalent in a relevant subject area. In addition, registration with GTC Scotland forms part of the agreed national terms and conditions of employment for all college lecturers. A recognised teaching qualification that meets mandatory registration in Further Education is preferred. However, we also welcome applicants without a recognised teaching qualification, as it will be a mandatory requirement to apply for Provisional (Conditional) Registration with GTCS Scotland if appointed.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
Applicants should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
