We have an exciting opportunity to join the bank as a Disaster Recovery Senior Analyst. The Senior Analyst will support the Head of Disaster Recovery to drive the vision, direction and align Santander UK's Disaster Recovery strategy and will ensure we continue to service our customers in the event of the unexpected. You will support the delivery of the DR strategy and improvements to the DR testing. This will encompass both On and Off premise infrastructure and the corresponding Business Services.

Here you’ll leverage traditional best practices to optimise agility as part of Digital Transformation journeys within the organisation, supporting the delivery of effective service management through the definition and adoption of a governance practice that uses KPIs and metrics to track and measure the quality of service.

You’ll work for the Head of DR in the development of the global strategy for Santander UK Infrastructure, designing and providing DR testing events, supporting the provision of project cost estimates for new initiatives, whilst working with third party vendors, helping to adopt new technologies and drive contract efficiency.

  • Supporting and delivering the overall DR strategy of multiple functional areas across Infrastructure and the CIO application teams
  • Identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings and service quality improvement
  • Assisting and supporting the Head of Disaster Recovery, in delivering the DR Strategy
  • Supporting the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure that we meet our KPIs and add value to the enterprise
  • Delivering DR testing for both on-prem and cloud based services
  • Supporting the CIO's Business Continuity programme

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • Accountable for Resilience and Disaster Recovery planning and execution
  • Embed resilience and recovery at the heart of what we build and maintain
  • Be the technology interface to BU stakeholders to ensure we have fit for purpose E2E recovery plans through testing
  • Build and maintain effective repeatable plans and processes for On/Off Premise technology
  • Supporting the delivery of DR plans and ensure we are within metrics governance of Santander
  • Have experience of automation frameworks on an Enterprise scale

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Can demonstrate a technical background in OS and Database Technologies
  • An understanding of risk management framework
  • An understanding of the Regulators Operational Resilience framework, including the Important Business Services delivery
  • Previously worked in a service focused company

What else you need to know:

This is a permanent role to be based at our Unity Place office, Milton Keynes. We want our people to thrive at work and home and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself.
