We are currently recruiting for HGV technician to join our established garage team. As HGV Technician you will perform routine maintenance, diagnosis and repairs to heavy goods vehicles. You will also ensure that trucks meet an organisation's safety and customer service standards.
Your day to day will consist of the following:
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles (primarily DAF) and trailers to DVSA standards
- Carrying out road tests
- Carrying out roadside repairs to own fleet vehicles and trailers
- Carrying out planned routine maintenance to own fleet and 3rd party fleet
- Carrying out MOT preparations on own fleet and 3rd party fleet
- Carrying out re-chassis work and light fabrication
- Responsible for the upkeep of scheduled maintenance records to ensure compliance of the companies Operator's licence
- Support business with out of hours breakdown cover for own fleet vehicles
- Willing to participate in relevant training and assessments
- Support and comply with the companies Health and Safety procedures and standards
You will from time to time be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by your line manager.

Required skills and experience:
Ideally as a HGV Technician/Mechanic, you will come from a time served motor vehicle technician background, having attained appropriate City and Guilds/NVQ/IRTEC qualifications. This is a great opportunity for a skilled or semi-skilled HGV Technician looking for their next challenge. A HGV driving license is desired but not essential.
Derby: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
