We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a high-profile life sciences project. Working for a leading M&E contractor, you will play a critical role in overseeing electrical subcontract packages on one of the industry’s most technically advanced developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of on-site electrical construction activities, ensuring compliance with project safety protocols in collaboration with the project safety team.
- Lead and enforce quality assurance (QA) procedures alongside the QA/QC team to maintain project standards.
- Support the management of the project schedule, tracking progress and reporting in line with overall project milestones.
- Oversee and monitor all costs associated with the electrical scope, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor variations.
- Provide hands-on leadership for the daily site operations, ensuring smooth coordination of resources and delivery targets.
- Directly manage and align the electrical site team and disciplines towards common project goals.
- Oversee and coordinate subcontractor packages, tracking progress against schedule, validating manpower levels, and holding weekly coordination meetings with all package owners.
- Implement and manage the snagging/punch list process, ensuring timely input from supervisors and support to the QA/QC manager.
- Ensure accurate daily reporting of labour hours for both direct and subcontracted personnel.
- Chair and lead regular meetings including internal project reviews, coordination sessions, engineering updates, and handover discussions.
- Assist in project close-out activities, including handover documentation (O&M Manuals, Safety File, QA records), final account support, punch list resolution, and demobilisation of materials and equipment.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Construction Manager within the electrical contracting industry.
- Proven track record managing large-scale projects, ideally within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or cleanroom environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and design-to-delivery workflows.
- Capable of managing subcontractor performance, coordinating multiple workstreams, and driving schedule compliance.
- Relevant trade background or third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Full, clean driver’s license.
