A client within the Public Sector based in Leicestershire is currently recruiting for a Principal Officer – Repairs to join their Repairs Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing repairs and maintenance environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused repairs service by leading the responsive repairs team and business support function, managing operatives and contractors, and ensuring service improvement and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Leading and managing the responsive repairs team and business support staff
- Ensuring repairs are completed efficiently, from identification through to resolution
- Managing external contractors and disrepair claims
- Monitoring performance and customer satisfaction to drive continuous improvements
- Working collaboratively across voids, tenancy, and investment teams
- Deputising for the Repairs and Investment Manager as required
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
- A relevant construction-related qualification (e.g., degree or membership of RICS/CIOB), or substantial equivalent experience
- Experience of managing property repairs services
- Knowledge of construction health and safety legislation
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
- Experience of leading teams and managing both in-house operatives and external contractors
- Ability to analyse performance data and implement service improvements
- Strong communication, budgeting, and IT skills
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £27 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £22 per hour PAYE).
