About the Role
Our client, a growing technology consultancy specialising in delivering secure, mission-critical solutions to the UK public sector, is seeking a Lead Technical Architect to join their expanding team. This role offers the opportunity to shape architectural strategies across a portfolio of complex integration and systems delivery programmes for high-profile government clients.
As the Lead Technical Architect, you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and client delivery teams to design and assure scalable and secure technical solutions that meet strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and assurance of integration and application architectures for major government system deliveries.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to internal teams and client stakeholders on architectural best practice.
- Develop architectural strategies, roadmaps, and transitional plans aligned with organisational goals.
- Conduct rigorous assurance of supplier solutions, ensuring compliance with security, governance, and quality standards.
- Define and document design patterns, technical standards, and architectural decisions.
- Engage in systems integration activities to ensure end-to-end alignment across suppliers.
- Collaborate with procurement and commercial teams to support strategic technical planning.
- Mitigate delivery risks through proactive architectural oversight and quality management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven track record as a Lead Technical Architect – Integration and Solution Delivery in large-scale, secure IT environments.
- Deep experience in application and integration architecture, including working with multiple vendors and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of systems integration, delivery governance, and architectural assurance.
- Experience with enterprise architecture tools, frameworks, and methods (e.g., TOGAF).
- Familiarity with regulated environments and compliance (e.g., GDPR).
- Strong communicator, able to document, present, and defend architectural strategy across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Eligible for high-level security clearance (British citizen, UK-resident for 5+ years).
