Our client, a well-established health-related charity, is seeking an Interim Head of Finance to lead its finance function during a key period of transition. This role is initially being offered on a 9-month contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including management accounts, audit coordination, and ensuring compliance with charity accounting standards (SORP). You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team on strategic financial planning and budgeting. You will also lead and develop a five-person finance team, supporting an ongoing restructure to improve resilience and cross-functional knowledge sharing.
Your responsibilities will extend to payroll, finance systems, legacy administration, Gift Aid, and tax matters. You’ll liaise regularly with the audit committee and Board of Trustees to finalise statutory accounts post-audit.
The successful candidate will be an experienced charity finance professional with a strong track record in audit preparation, statutory reporting, and team leadership. Experience in the Charity Sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Location: Hybrid – minimum 2 days/week onsite
- Contract: Interim, starting by July 2025 (potential for permanence)
- Hours: Full-time preferred; 4 days/week considered
- Salary: Circa £55,000 – £60,000
