Walker Group provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. We are expanding our workforce and have an exciting opportunity to join our Basildon team as a Maintenance Engineer.
As Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the equipment and processes that allow the business to run efficiently, identifying potential problems early before they cause failures.
Maintenance Engineer Key Responsibilities:- General maintenance for site & facility
- Machine repair covering Makino/Mazak/Matsuura/Okuma
- Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) to cover all machining centres
- Running machine capability studies
- Arranging and management of repairs/machine breakdown with contractors
- Planning and scheduling machine servicing
- Planning and scheduling calibration for inspection electronic measuring equipment
- LOLER safety equipment checks on all lifting equipment
- Raising purchase orders and negotiating price
- Budget management
- Experience of Engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Good machine repair knowledge
- Experience and skills in set-up of precision assemblies, the use of machine tools, fault finding and problem solving
- Geometric checks on work centres (desirable)
- Great attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Able to plan and organise workload
- Flexible approach to duties and tasks
- Can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Capable of using own initiative
- Good problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office
