Are you a proven leader in fire safety operations looking for your next big challenge? We are seeking a proactive and experienced Fire Operations Manager to join a dynamic and growing team. This is a pivotal role with direct influence over commercial performance, contract delivery, team development, and strategic growth within the Fire Division. You must have previous experience working with fire alarm systems as well as the right to work in the UK to be considered for this role.
About the Role
Reporting to the Fire Operations Director, you’ll oversee multiple fire safety contracts, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and client satisfaction. With a number of direct reports, you’ll drive team performance, support business development, and play a key role in the mobilisation and commercial success of new and existing contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the operational delivery of multiple fire contracts, focusing on KPI performance, client satisfaction, and compliance
- Drive Health & Safety performance and culture across all fire teams
- Provide high-level technical support and ensure quality control
- Price contracts and quotes on larger projects over £50k
- Mobilize new contracts and liaise closely with bid and contract management teams
- Grow revenue and margin, ensuring invoicing, AFPs, and reporting are delivered accurately and on time
- Recruit, coach, and develop Contract Managers and junior staff
- Represent leadership at Engineers Meetings and provide visible support across the workforce
- Manage team performance from both a technical and behavioural perspective
- Support business development across existing and new clients
- Oversee supply chain activities within the Fire division
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive experience managing fire safety contracts in the public sector, ideally within social housing
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- In-depth knowledge of fire legislation and technical standards
- FIA Level 3 and BAFE-qualified (or equivalent)
- SMSTS and other relevant H&S certifications
- Demonstrated leadership of operational and contract teams
- A collaborative and proactive approach to work
- Proficient in Excel and general IT tools
- A track record of exceeding budgets and achieving KPIs
