Role Overview Working on electrical projects on behalf of the Company, involving projects ranging from LV through to 132kV. The role will involve working as part of a team to Review Distribution Network Operator (DNO) Contestable Connection Offers and completing designs that conform to the relevant DNO policies, British and IEC standards. You will also be required to assist in the design of various types of energy projects on customer private networks, principally Solar Farms and Battery Energy Storage facilities, however the customer private network could be for any purpose, whether this be a generation plant or a demand/load connection. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for assisting the Electrical Design Manager with the mentoring of trainee and Junior Electrical Engineers. What will you be doing? Produce the following reports/drawings: The design and conceptual design of both the grid connection and private network infrastructure from LV up to and including 132kV. Cable sizing studies. Switchgear selection and specification. Transformer selection and specification. CT and VT sizing studies. Battery Charger sizing studies. Small Power and Lighting Design. Control room/Switchroom layout design. Produce designs that follow EP policies, UK standards and legislation, DNO/IDNO policies and employer’s requirements Responsible for the issue of the deliverables in line with the project program Working on multiple projects simultaneously What are we looking for? Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering. AutoCAD experience. Experience in Contracting/Consulting or working with IDNO’s, DNO’s or ICP’s. HV/EHV experience.
