Build Your Future with Leading Construction Company OHMG as Department Head of Planning Our client who we are working exclusively with would like you to join their industry-leading team in Newry and play a key role in delivering high-profile projects from concept to completion. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love turning plans into reality, this is your chance to make an impact! Main job function You will be responsible for leading the planning function on major construction projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Key tasks and duties: Develop and manage complex project schedules from inception to completion. Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineering, design, construction management, and commissioning. Conduct interactive planning workshops to facilitate team alignment. Analyse project critical paths and provide updates on schedule performance to the project management team. Deliver insights during constructability reviews to optimize project schedules. Determine and communicate resource requirements to achieve project objectives. Identify variances, provide regular performance updates, and recommend corrective actions, as necessary. You will have: You will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar planning role with a main contractor in Ireland or the UK. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Effective time management abilities. Proactive self-starter with a strong commitment to quality and project success. Proficiency in ASTA or similar project management software.
