A superb opportunity for a 3rd line service desk engineer to join a well-established IT consultancy with a broad range of clients across diverse sectors. Provide advanced technical support and manage the infrastructure and security requirements of the client. Take ownership of infrastructure, security, and support across a varied client estate.
Excellent experience within the Microsoft environments, proactive about automation, and solid in backup and disaster recovery.
The Role:
- Support the infrastructure stack, including Microsoft Entra ID, SSO, Azure, VMs consisting of domain controllers, file servers, hosted RDS environment, and other hosted services.
- Maintain patching schedules for Microsoft applications, third-party applications, and anti-virus definitions including Microsoft Defender.
- Maintain compliance with Cyber Essentials standards.
- Provide support including Microsoft Intune and legacy systems.
- Support device endpoints using Manage Engine Endpoint & Applications Manager.
- Maintain patching schedules and configuration for various devices via policy, and daily checks.
- Report on endpoint coverage and compliance.
- Reduce complexity and increase productivity across the Microsoft environment.
- Develop smoother, more efficient ways of working.
- Manage, review, and ensure the Disaster Recovery Plan is fit for purpose, via detailed documentation in conjunction with the client.
- Conduct regular disaster recovery assurance testing for various systems, including Azure infrastructure failover, M365 backup/restore, network infrastructure failover.
The Person:
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, Manage Engine, and M365.
- AZ-104 certification (or working towards it).
- Confident scripting with PowerShell.
- Hands-on with VMs, networking, security and DR planning.
- Good communicator, detail-oriented, and a problem-solver.
