Your new role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Buyer for a temporary position based on-site in Hertfordsghire. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, typically 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (with some flexibility available). You will be working closely with a small, dedicated team including a Materials Manager and another Buyer.Key responsibilities include:
* Producing accurate take-offs from construction drawings for materials such as bricks, blocks, CLS, doors, and ironmongery.
* Reviewing and processing variations (VOs) and updating existing take-off schedules and orders accordingly.
* Managing and updating material orders using internal systems.
* Supporting the team with scheduling, information gathering, and general procurement tasks
What you\’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:* Proven experience in the housebuilding or residential construction industry.
* Strong understanding of construction drawings and the ability to perform accurate material take-offs.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Experience with procurement/order management systems; familiarity with COINS is advantageous but not essential.
* A conscientious, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Availability to start immediately and commit to a minimum 6-week assignment.
