What you'll be doing:
- Leading a team of Technicians on a Ship in BAE Care & Protection
- Responsible for management, quality and co-ordination of all Safe Systems of Work (SS0W) and their delivery to the Project Team
- Opportunity to be a key figure in driving through improvements & change in the department
- Planning, co-ordinating and recording low level maintenance and equipment keep alive as required by contract specification
- Achieving maximum performance by utilising resources, tools, and equipment to full effect
- Providing information and advice to assist in the production of estimates for work packages and programmes
- You'll also have people manager responsibilities in this role
Your skills and experiences:
- Essential:
- Good Mechanical & Electrical System Knowledge & able to interpret technical drawings
- BTEC HNC or equivalent and/or to have served a recognised apprenticeship and/or extensive experience on RN/Marine electro/mechanical equipment and systems
- Proficient IT skills, to include MS Office
- Thorough knowledge of Safe Systems of Work and Processes
- Previous experience of managing and coaching a team
- Experienced with High Voltage
- EX RN (Mechanical / Electrical) bias or Offshore Oil and Gas, Ship Repair / Build
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- High Voltage Authorised Person
- Confined Space Authorised Person

The Ship Services team provides resource to Ships that are in both long term and short-term maintenance periods by taking full Care & Protection of the vessel, providing 24/7 support, this enables the Royal Navy to release the crew to take up other roles. This support is provided by a Team Manager, Senior Technicians, and a team, dependent on size of Ship, of up to 20 Technicians. The Teams responsibilities include management and co-ordination of all Safe Systems of Work and comply with Company processes and procedures to ensure the safety of all staff, ship equipment and structure whilst managing and controlling allocated Ship Services Team activities to achieve project delivery to time, cost and quality.
