ABOUT THE SCHOOL: A two form entry school in Tunbridge Wells are looking for an experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a Reception pupil. All those in the school community strive to provide an environment where children are actively encouraged to reach their full potential in all areas of development. Their teachers believe that every child matters and they work to provide high quality teaching which meets the needs of every pupil. As a result, children become curious, engaged students, who listen and question well and learn in an environment of kindness, responsibility and respect. These values are underpinned in the school’s ASPIRE values. Staff have high expectations of pupils, in their work and in the way they interact with others. Simply put, they expect children to work to the best of their ability, as well as behave in a polite and responsible manner at all times. This in turn creates a nurturing environment for all and encourages a love of learning. Successful 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Must have previous SEN experience Ideally be experienced in Down Syndrome and Autism Have previous experience with Reception Must be resilient, caring and empathetic Main purpose of job for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant To work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo, and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes/intervention strategies with the pupil both in and outside the classroom and assist the teacher in evaluating their impact. This will also involve assisting the teacher in planning, and the management/preparation of resources. Full training will be provided. Term Time Teachers are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants will be subject to a full face-to-face registration and an Enhanced DBS (Formerly known as CRB)
