Job title: Aircraft Structures Engineer – Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Location: Prestwick. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role Salary: £46,426 – £54,759 dependent on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: Defining and carrying out engineering analysis tasks allocated to you and to your team members as part of the Advanced Aerostructures group, working on a range of modern military air platforms Review, checking and approving work done by less experienced colleagues Mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues to build up the team’s knowledge, skill and experience across the Structures discipline. Ensuring effective interactions between team mates, suppliers, customers and others, to develop efficient and effective working practices, and resolving issues as they arise to maintain this effectiveness Carrying out analysis of structure fatigue and damage tolerance calculations using a variety of software applications, to demonstrate that the structural design meets relevant certification and project requirements Assessing the F&DT implications of modifications and repairs to in-service aircraft Your skills and experiences: You will have a STEM-related degree or relevant aerospace engineering experience Familiarity with structural fatigue and fracture mechanics, dynamics, vibration and acoustic effects analysis methods Good understanding of classical structural analysis techniques and methods Experience in using and applying of structural analysis tools such as Nastran etc, and output data processing techniques You will have experience of leading engineers in developing and delivering satisfactory customer outcomes Demonstrable experience of Aircraft Structural Engineering, and the application of F&DT analysis Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
