Matchroom Sport is a global leader in sports promotion and production, delivering live events and premium content worldwide. Our in-house production arm, Matchroom Media, produces over 2,500 hours of live original content annually, encompassing major sporting events for boxing, darts and nineball.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Technical Production Manager to oversee the technical execution of our live sports productions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all technical aspects of live outside broadcasts, ensuring alignment with editorial vision and technical requirements and a seamless delivery to multiple platforms.
- Liaise with OB providers, lighting and staging suppliers, and technical crew to plan and deliver live output.
- Design, update, and circulate detailed technical call sheets and delivery schematics.
- Lead on-site technical production during live events, ensuring smooth operation and quick resolution of any issues.
- Introduce new technical innovations to the broadcast to enhance programming.
- Ensure all productions adhere to health and safety regulations, including the compilation of risk assessments.
- Manage and track technical budgets and cost reporting for all projects.
- Support the continuous improvement of workflows and production processes, ensuring efficiency and innovation.
Qualifications
- An experienced Unit Manager or Production Manager within live sports broadcasting.
- Thorough understanding of broadcast operations, delivery methods, and outside broadcast technical systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and coordinate large teams under pressure.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with acute attention to detail.
- Ability to manage budgets and report costs accurately.
- Calm under pressure, adaptable, and solutions-focused.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Experience working with international outside broadcasts.
